This season, the Calvi button-down shirt comes in a Japanese fabric of remarkable visual richness.

Its windowpane check, full of subtle nuances, is overlaid with an irregular herringbone pattern whose diagonal lines bring the surface to life.

The dense 196 g/m² fabric keeps you warm, while the comfortable cut offers endless layering possibilities.

The Calvi features a subtly straight silhouette for maximum comfort. Wear it directly on the skin (and enjoy its softness), over a T-shirt, or with a fine knit.

It’s not an oversized cut, though: the shoulders are well defined, and the chest, while comfortable, shows no excess fabric.

How to wear this shirt

Visually rich, it elevates any look built from simple basics — think raw denim, a grey sweatshirt, a white T-shirt, or a beige raincoat.

Beneath its deep-contrast windowpane check — blending rust, charcoal grey, off-white, and forest green — lies a sophisticated herringbone pattern. Thinner or thicker, more visible or more discreet, diagonal lines are scattered irregularly across the surface of the fabric, creating a striking visual effect.

A true favourite of our product team, this material comes to life in Japan, in the workshops of Takihyo, a renowned Japanese weaver founded in 1751. Originally specialised in kimono trading, the company has since evolved to offer a full range of high-end fabrics with distinctive texture and depth.
