A fabric that takes you to Japan
There are all the other blue shirts.
And then there’s yours—made from a bright chambray woven in Japan on traditional shuttle looms. Mastering these machines requires rare expertise, but the result is well worth it. The shuttle slowly moves back and forth across the fabric, giving the blue and white cotton fibers time to express themselves—creating just the right amount of irregularity and texture on the surface.
Subtle from afar, striking up close: that’s exactly the kind of fabric we love at Bonnegueule—the kind that sparks curiosity and admiration, even if people can’t quite put their finger on why.
We sourced this soft and comfortable cotton cloth from Shuttle Notes, a discreet Japanese mill that has spent over 70 years carefully crafting fabrics with unique depth and character in its Nishiwaki workshop.
