The power of black denim

We are diving onto the world of black denim—and that’s excellent news for your style.

Here are three ways to wear it:

  • In contrast with beige, green, or blue. Even better: black beautifully highlights brighter shades like purple, red, pink, or yellow. It’s the perfect chance to bring out your colorful shirts, sweaters, and accessories.
  • In monochromatif outfits with black, charcoal, or navy. Discreet yet striking.
  • In shades of white (ecru, cream) and grey (light or dark), for a minimalist-inspired outfit.

The best of Italian denim

This jean is black… but not entirely.

It is woven with a black warp and an ecru, almost cream-colored weft, which give the fabric texture and depth far beyond that of pitch black. Up close, the lighter threads discreetly reveal themselves, scattered irregularly across the weave.

Woven in Italy on vintage shuttle looms brought back to life, this fabric embodies all of Candiani’s expertise in creating selvedge denims full of character, rivaling with some Japanese fabrics.

At 13.5oz, the denim gives the jeans just the right amount of structure and presence without being overly rigid. Their comfort is enhanced further by a light wash in the workshop, which gently softens the fabric.

And like raw denim, this black jean will only grow more beautiful with time, developing a subtle grey patina—marking all the good moments you’ll live in them.

An environmentally responsible fabric

Candiani doesn’t stop at making beautiful fabrics. The Italian family-owned mill has been working for years on solutions to create more sustainable textiles.

This denim is Regenagri certified, guaranteeing that the cotton comes from regenerative agriculture—a new way of farming designed to restore the health of fertile lands and have a positive impact on soil quality.
